Salut - Je m'appelle Solène ( pronounced so-len )

I was born and brought up in Paris, although much of my family roots lie in Brittany. I came to England initially to learn the language - but ended up meeting my future husband and starting a family here in Dorking, Surrey.

My students come from all walks of life. I tutor a number of adults of all ages and abilities - all of whom have different reasons for wishing to further their knowledge of French - whether it be for business purposes, holidays or even just for pure enjoyment. School exam times are usually very busy for me - as students brush up for GCSE's and 'A' levels and I am constantly rewarded with thank yous from my students when they achieve those all important grades.

For some years I have taught children of French speaking parents living in the U.K at the Petite Ecole in Reigate and more recently Le Petit Béret in Epsom. I have past experience working at the Duke Of Kent School in Ewhurst.

I like to think the reason my clients keep coming back is because they enjoy the lessons which are always filled with fun and humour.

Whilst I now live in the UK - France will always be my home and I welcome the opportunity to tell of its people and culture - as well as speaking the beautiful language.

Tuition

Most commonly I give one to one tuition at my home in Dorking to adults, school students and children of all abilities with various goals in mind. Each lesson is tailored uniquely to their requirements. Whilst I can come to your home - the additional charges for my time and transport generally make this an expensive option, but I am happy to quote. 

Please note there is free parking outside my home as well as two mainline stations virtually on the doorstep.

Another option which is becoming increasingly popular, especially during the pandemic, is Zoom, Skype & Teams which you may like to consider if you are not local to Dorking.

I occasionally tutor couples and groups, but this is generally reliant on them being of a similar standard.  

Everybody has different reasons for wanting to further their knowledge of the French language - so why not just pick up the phone and give me a call ...

Individual private tuition - £40 per hour

Couples at similar level - £55 per hour

Children 5 - 12 years only - £30 for a half hour

 Get one FREE lesson if you pay for 10 lessons in advance

I generally ask that people book a regular weekly slot  with a 3 week notice period
Cancellations will generally be charged at the full rate.

You may of course book ad hoc - but I cannot always guarantee to be available.
